Native QuickBooks Online integration For bookkeeping firms

Every client's books, done the right way.

Symphony uses AI to categorize transactions, prepare reconciliations and chase receipts across your whole client list — then stops wherever a bookkeeper should decide. Every change is logged with what was there before, and any of it can be undone.

In the client's own file

Work happens directly in each client's QuickBooks company. No exports, no spreadsheets, no re-keying.

Their setup, as it is

Uses each client's chart of accounts, vendors, classes and bank feeds exactly as you've set them up.

Connected in a minute

Sign in with QuickBooks, pick the client, and you're connected — read-only until you say otherwise.

  1. 01The routine work, done for every client
  2. 02A bookkeeper signs off on anything unclear
  3. 03One process the whole team follows
  4. 04The owner sees every client's progress at a glance

The jobs that eat the month, handled before you open the file.

Each job is a piece of bookkeeping work your firm defines once and runs for any client. It learns from that client's history and your notes about them — and it's always clear what a job is allowed to change.

A

Categorize transactions

Clears Uncategorized using the client's own history. Anything over your limit, or from a new payee, is left for a person.

Changes one field. Each change undoable.

B

Prepare reconciliations

Matches the statement to the register and hands you a worksheet of what doesn't tie out. You do the reconcile.

Changes nothing. Produces a worksheet.

C

Chase missing receipts

Sends your client one tidy weekly list and attaches what comes back to the right transaction.

Emails your client — only after you approve the wording.

D

Follow up overdue invoices

Drafts polite reminders for anything past terms, for you to approve one by one.

Emails their customers, after you approve each.

  • Read-only
  • Changes the books, with undo
  • Reaches outside the books
  • The same colours appear on every screen in Symphony.

Nothing reaches the books until a bookkeeper says so.

Every job, for every client, runs in safe mode or live mode. You move it to live only when you've seen enough — and you can move it back at any time. Either mode can run on a schedule.

Started by P. Raman. 138 changes, each stored with its before-value. Try undoing a line. Safe mode: nothing in QuickBooks was touched. Approve the run to make these changes, or correct any line first.

Every change traces back to a person.

Each modification to a client's books carries its full history: which job proposed it, which rule applied, who approved it and when, and what was there before. Built for firms answering to auditors, regulators and their clients' own compliance teams.

Traceable
Every write is linked to the person who switched the job on and the person who approved it.
Approvable
Your firm decides, rule by rule, where a human must approve and where routine work can go through.

Your best bookkeeper's method, followed by everyone.

Write a job once — the steps, the limits, what must be left for a person — and every bookkeeper runs that same job for every client. New hires inherit the firm's way of working on day one. Clients get the same quality no matter who's on their file.

Jobs
Defined by the firm. Same steps, same thresholds, for every client.
Client notes
What you know about a client that every job should know too — kept with the client, not in someone's head.
Hand-offs
Move a client to another bookkeeper and everything — jobs, notes, history — goes with it.

Built so the cautious answer is the default.

Read-only by default

Connecting a client changes nothing. Writing is switched on per job, per client, by a person.

Every change reversible

Each write is stored with its before-value. Undo one line, or a whole run.

Nothing sent unseen

No email reaches a client or their customers without a bookkeeper approving it first.

Clients kept apart

One client's books are never used to make decisions for another.

Set once, for the whole firm

You choose which AI models touch your clients' books.

Your firm's admins approve the models Symphony may use. The choice applies to every client and every bookkeeper, so provenance, security and data-handling requirements are met by default, not by memory. Every change to the setting is logged.

Only admins can change this list. Bookkeepers can't override it for a client.

Know where every client stands without asking anyone.

One view of the whole firm: which closes are on pace, which are slipping, who's waiting on a decision and who's waiting on a client. Spot the bottleneck on the 20th, not the 5th.

Activity

What ran, for whom, and what it changed — across the whole firm, today or any day.

Progress

Every client's close, step by step, against the date you promised it.

Workload

See who's carrying the most open decisions, and rebalance before anyone falls behind.

Start with one client. The one you know best.

Connect their books read-only, run a job in safe mode, and check its work against what you would have done. About five minutes. Nothing changes until you decide.
